1. What was finished?
* Jesus
suffered – Isa. 53:3, Mark 8:31; Acts 2; Isa. 53:5
* Simple
answer – all that He came to do (Jn. 4:34). Three figures of Christ:

2. Why was it finished? Sin!
* Sin is
real (Rom. 3:10; II Chron. 6:36). Nearly as old as Creation
(I Jn. 3:8).
* Jesus
teaches about sin (Luke 5, 7).

3. Why was Jesus the only suitable sacrifice?
* God
couldn’t just turn a blind eye to sin (Isa.
6:3; Rev. 4:8; Psalm 89:14).
* Sin must be punished! How could God remain just, yet justify
sinful mankind? Ans. Rom. 3:19-26.
* Suitable sacrifice must meet these conditions:

* Did Jesus pass the test? Was He just and sinless? Yes!
- He claims He was (Jn. 8:29&46).
- His friends claimed He was (Luke 5:3; Mt. 4:18&21;
Luke 5:8).
- His enemies claimed He was! (Judas – Mt. 27:4;
Pilate – Luke 23:4; Pilate’s wife – Mt. 27:19; Roman
centurion
– Lk. 23:47).
* II Cor. 5:21 – Jesus knew no sin. See also Heb. 4:15 & 7:26.
4. How do we take advantage
of this great gift?
* Romans 6:3-4 – burial in baptism.
* Become “new creature” (II Cor. 5:17).
Sin and Satan – spiritual death – IT IS FINISHED! Take advantage of
God’s wonderful gift of salvation today before it’s everlastingly too late!
